TECTROL announces general availability of the TCP1U-1500 -- New Front-End Power Supply delivers 1500 watts in compact 1U profile -- Toronto, March 10, 2004 - Tectrol Inc., a leading global manufacturer of platform and custom power supply solutions, today announced general availability of the TCP1U-1500, a compact Front-End Power Module that delivers up to 1500 watts in a 1U profile. The TCP1U-1500 delivers industry-leading power density, provides extremely high efficiency and is designed to deliver reliable bulk power to distributed power architectures used in telecom systems, networking equipment and industrial instrumentation. Measuring only 1.59" x 5.2" x 11.73", the TCP1U provides 16 watts per cubic inch at a power efficiency in excess of 90%. The TCP1U is available in several standard configurations providing 24 V or 48 V nominal outputs from 90 to 264 VAC input. The TCP1U offers a wide range of high-end features built into the standard platform including: Enhanced I2C capabilities that allow interrogation of manufacturing data and provide power module monitoring and alarm reporting. True hot swap functionality through the use of an industry-standard blind mate connector. Available with customer-specific output voltages for use in a wide range of applications (eg. the 48 V nominal output model can be configured to provide voltage settings from 46 to 59 V). The flexibility to be used as a cost-effective rectifier solution for battery charging, motor control and other applications that require a constant current output characteristic. The TCP1U can be deployed as a standalone power module or as part of the Tectrol TCPR-1U Power System. The TCPR-1U supports up to 3 TCP1U-1500 modules allowing scalability up to 4500 watts with non-redundant parallel operation or N+1 redundancy with hot swap of individual power modules.
