The engineering effort encompasses the entire product lifecycle and is structured on rigorous ISO 9001-2000 certified processes to ensure maximum quality and efficiency.
Product Design Process
New product introduction processes are comprehensive, intense and exacting, enabling TECTROL to maintain its world class reputation of high-quality standards and engineering design integrity. To ensure all engineering processes are tightly aligned throughout the company, a detailed project plan is developed at the beginning of each project and maintained throughout the development program.
New product design includes prototype and pilot phases. During each phase, engineering, manufacturing and quality assurance team leaders collectively ensure that the design will result in a reliable production process that produces high yield, high quality, consistency and cost effectiveness, before proceeding to the next project phase.
Product Qualification
All TECTROL products are subjected to a comprehensive product qualification process to ensure compliance to customer requirements and adherence to TECTROL's rigorous design and quality standards.
The qualification stage commences after the initial product design has been completed and consists of independent testing and verification performed according to each product's functional operating parameters. During qualification the products are exposed to extreme conditions to ensure the product can sustain abnormal operating parameters.
During Product Qualification, all required certification and homologation tests are also performed. All TECTROL products are tested and approved to UL, CSA, TUV and CB Report standards as well as any other regional or country-specific standards that may be applicable.
Design Review
After passing the product qualification stage, the product goes through a systematic Design Review, which includes 8 major Design Review gates. During the Design Review, new product prototype and pilot runs go through processing and testing in a designated assembly area.
The Design Review includes input from the Customer and TECTROL's entire project team including manufacturing and test engineering, materials management and purchasing, component engineering, compliance engineering, mechanical and electrical design and the project qualification team.
